Dactylorhiza hatagirea is a high value orchid species native to the Himalayas, from Pakistan to South Eastern Tibet at altitude ranging from 2800 m to 4000 m. It is highly traded in the name of "Panchaule" in Nepal which means five fingered hand. It is perennial herb with long flowering stems and popularly known for its medicinal value. Its roots are sweet in taste. It costs around NRs 10,000-15000 as of 2015 AD.
